Commentary on Shilajit Super Tonic

Daniel Reid, well known author of Tao of Health, Sex and Longevity, The Complete Book of Chinese Health & Healing, and My Journey in Mystic China: Old Pu's Travel Diary on Shilajit Super Tonic:

Medicinal herbal liquor (yao jiou), also known in Traditional Chinese Medicine as "Spring Wine" (chun jiou) due to its potent rejuvenating benefits, has since ancient times been the method of choice in China for preparing herbal tonic formulas. Not only do distilled spirits extract and preserve the full spectrum of beneficial bioactive elements contained in the herbs, the alcohol itself facilitates swift assimilation directly from stomach to bloodstream, serves as a strong metabolic booster for maximum utilization of the herbal essences, and promotes rapid delivery throughout the whole system.

Known as "superior medicine" (shang yao) because they contain no toxic elements whatsoever, tonic herbs are used in TCM primarily to boost sexual potency, improve cerebral function, strengthen immune response, and prolong life. These are the quintessential desires of all Chinese people everywhere, past and present, for the Chinese have always focused their attention and based their lives primarily on the pursuit of earthly power and pleasure. Chinese tonic formulas reflect these Chinese preferences by favoring herbs which stimulate abundant production of hormones and facilitate their quick delivery to specific organs and glands in the body. In the inner alchemy of the "Three Treasures"-- essence, energy, and spirit--Chinese tonic elixirs work mainly on essence (jing), the essential bodily fluids which form the foundation of human health and vitality, including hormones, semen, neurotransmitters, enzymes, and blood.

I shared the recipe for the formulas for preparing three different traditional tonic spirits in my books, including the personal prescription of the centenarian General Yang Sen, whose Chinese doctor was a close friend of my own Chinese medical mentor in Taiwan and shared the formula with us.

Recently, my good friend, ace student, and aspiring fellow alchemist Joseph Wagner has created a new version of these ancient Chinese elixirs for health, sex, and longevity by selectively adding some rare, little known Tibetan tonic herbs to a traditional Chinese base formula to come up with something truly unique. Unlike the earthy Chinese, Tibetans lean more toward "Heaven" than "Earth" in the "Three Power" paradigm of Heaven, Earth, and Humanity (tien di ren), and thus Tibetan tonics tend to move energy upwards toward the higher chakra centers for spiritual application, rather than downward toward the lower centers to boost sexual and other physical functions. When properly blended with a base of traditional Chinese tonic herbs, Tibetan tonics become even more potent fuel for cultivating "spiritual energy" (ling chi) than they are in the original Tibetan formulas. Joseph's recipe meets the needs of both body and mind, bridges the shores of the sensual and the spiritual, and harmonizes the powers of Heaven and Earth with the practical requirements of Humanity.

I highly recommend Joseph Wagner's Shilajit Super Tonic for long-term use as an effective tonic booster for the whole body, a potent elemental catalyst for the vital functions of the energy system, and a strong "internal elixir" (nei dan) support for all spiritual practices.
