Reishi Spores are the most concentrated expression of the Reishi Mushroom that nature provides. It takes roughly 1000 kg of Reishi fruiting bodies to produce just 1–3 kg of spores. These tiny golden grains are considered the reproductive “pollen” of the mushroom and have been treasured for centuries in classical herbal traditions.
Often described as containing the “essence” of Reishi in Taoist and Traditional Chinese herbalism, Reishi Spores naturally contain triterpenes, polysaccharides, amino acids, adenosine, minerals, trace elements, and other naturally occurring constituents. Kotuku Elixirs uses cracked cell-wall spores to make these nutrients accessible — achieved through a combination of pressure and sound vibrational methods.
Our Reishi Spores are gathered from certified organic Reishi grown in semi-wild farms in Northern China. The mushrooms are cultivated on selected hardwood logs embedded in the earth and sheltered by tunnel houses, allowing the spores to settle and collect undisturbed.
